Vilitra 40 mg (Vardenafil): Uses, Dosage, Benefits & Safety
Vilitra 40 mg contains vardenafil, a potent phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor indicated for the treatment of erectile dysfunction (ED). Vardenafil is also available under the brand Levitra. It works by enhancing nitric oxide–mediated vasodilation, thereby increasing blood flow to the penile tissues during sexual stimulation and supporting improved erectile response.
Vilitra 40 mg is considered a higher-strength dose and is typically prescribed for men who do not respond adequately to lower doses. It should be taken approximately 30 to 60 minutes before sexual activity, with effects lasting up to 4–6 hours.
Common side effects may include headache, flushing, nasal congestion, and dizziness. Due to potential cardiovascular risks and drug interactions—especially with nitrates—Vilitra 40 mg should be used strictly under medical supervision to ensure safety and optimal therapeutic outcomes.
